ARISE (Men’s Shelter)

Offers temporary shelter to homeless men. Catholic Community Services screens the men who will be staying in a different church facility each month. St. Anthony Parishioners undertake that responsibility for the months of February and July each year. Responsibilities include welcoming the participants, preparing and serving meals, and coming together in prayer as they arrive at our Parish Hall each evening. To volunteer: go to our Sign up Genius page for more contact information.

Hospital Ministry

St. Anthony Parish is committed to giving care to the sick and dying. Extraordinary Ministers bring a sacramental presence to those they serve, whether bringing the Body of Christ and/or bringing their own presence with those suffering.

Homebound Ministry

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take the Body of Christ to the sick and the home bound of our Parish community at least once a week. Training provided.

Grief and Beyond Ministry

St. Anthony’s Grief and Beyond Ministry Offers ongoing support, resources, spiritual care, and encouragement through facilitated group work. For information regarding the group, contact Ayssa Beasley at 425-277-6208, or Kay Mulliner at 206-246-6358.

St. Vincent De Paul Society

Volunteers are men and women who meet weekly and serve those in need in our neighborhood and Parish community. They make home visits as much as possible, assessing the needs of those who have asked for assistance. Volunteers also organize the St. Vincent collection, make phone calls, and work with the pantry where volunteers can make up bags of food and lunch sacks for those who come in during the week for food. Contact: 425-255-3132 for more information.

REACH (Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches)

This faith-based organization partners with the City of Renton in providing for some of the needs of the Renton community at large, addressing homelessness, hunger, environment, violence and drug use, trafficking… and seeking a way to eliminate the root causes. Meets once a month in area churches.

Community Meals is a service offered to the Renton population every evening of the month. St. Anthony Parish is providing the meal of the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Advent Angels Christmas Program

In the Christmas Season, St. Anthony parishioners work with families in the Renton community that call for support, gather gifts from the school and parishioners who have “adopted” a child or more, and distribute these gifts shortly before Christmas.

Operation Rice Bowl

As part of the Lenten Season, St. Anthony Parishioners are invited to further support Catholic Relief Services, an organization which helps alleviate suffering of the children of God at home and abroad. Offerings are collected on Holy Thursday.

Shoeboxes of Joy

For the Easter season, St. Anthony’s collaborates with Assisted Living Communities, Pregnancy Aide, ARISE, Dorothy Day Home, and YWCA Teen Shelter to bring appropriate gifts for each community. St. Anthony Parishioners are invited to give the needed items in a decorated shoe box, to be distributed to our collaborators.
