Cropwalk
Volunteers walk to raise money for hunger projects in the Renton area and nation-wide. Volunteers also prepare for the event and seek sponsors. Sign ups in April. Walk is held in May. Rose Benedicto. If you are interested, you may visit the Cropwalk site.

Detention Ministry:

Volunteers are trained by the Office of Criminal Justice Ministry Resources to provide spiritual assistance such as Communion Services and Scripture Studies to prisoners in one of many sites including Echo Glen Children's Center or the Kent Correctional Facility. There is also a need to work with those being released from detention.

Northwest Medical Team (Mobile Dental Unit)
The goal is to provide free or low cost dental services once a month to young adults in the community who cannot afford services elsewhere and have no dental insurance. Volunteers make phone calls, assist clients, keep records. Lavonne Kofmehl

REACH (Renton Ecumenical Area Churches)
REACH helps our faith community to be a part of the Renton Church Community and of the church community of Greater Seattle. Cropwalk and World Prayer Day are sponsored through REACH.

Renton Human Services
Provides funding for agencies that help people in areas such as housing repair, medical and dental services, youth counseling, emergency and transitional housing for the homeless, and nutrition programs for the young and elderly. The main function of the members of the advisory committee is to determine which agencies and programs should be selected for funding. .

Renton Museum
To preserve artifacts and records pertaining to the history of Renton. Volunteers also help to preserve the historical heritage of Renton and help individuals who are searching for histories of their families or for information for reports or student papers. Call the City to volunteer.

Renton River Days
To interact with the community at large. Volunteers man a booth for 2-day affair and help with the parade. Rose Benedicto.

Renton Senior Center
Senior Center Board consists of 16 members that meet twice a month creating activity for seniors. Call the city to volunteer.

Salvation Army Board
18 members meet once a month to assist Salvation Army with charitable projects. Call Salvation Army.

Way Back Inn
Way Back Inn is a nonprofit agency that provides homes or apartments to families with children under 14 years old. Volunteers help Way Back Inn prepare homes, donate furniture, or lease a piece of property for homeless families, home maintenance, painting, carpentry, plumbing, yard work, roofing, electrical, labor, family screening.
